The ESL Pro League Season 11 Europe champions are fnatic, who overcame MOUZ in a five-map grand final (16-11 Overpass, 7-16 Dust2, 11-16 Vertigo, 16-1 Nuke, 16-12 Mirage).
The first ESL Pro League season to be concluded online, Season 11 Europe, saw fnatic and MOUZ meet in the grand final. To get there, the Swedish side topped the second group stage while MOUZ overcame Astralis in the semi-final. Both teams have ESL Pro League trophies in their cabinets as fnatic won the first two seasons, while MOUZ are current champions after their victory in Odense, Denmark last year.
The grand final saw teams securing their map picks comfortably, Overpass and Dust2, before Vertigo and Nuke were traded to see the action move to Mirage. The final map lived up to expectation, as both teams brought A game, but fnatic managed closed out the series with a strong T side to become ESL Pro League Season 11 Europe champions.
fnatic was dangerous on the T-side of Overpass, their map pick, winning the first half 9-6 and extending the lead after Robin "flusha" Rönnquist set up his teammates for a pistol round win with four flash assists. fnatic reached map point shortly, but Özgür "woxic" Eker and David "frozen" Čerňanský kept it interesting with 1v3 clutches. MOUZ brought it back to 15-11, but their risky rush towards B fell flat and fnatic claimed map one.
Finn "karrigan" Andersen spearheaded MOUZ as they replied to the Overpass loss with a strong start on the offensive side of Dust2, 8-2. flusha grabbed an ace and followed it with a hat-trick round which inspired fnatic to comeback on CT, finishing the half with six, but it all fell apart in the second half. woxic secured three kills in the pistol (13-6) and MOUZ converted the map victory swiftly, 16-7.
An uninspired start to the T-side of Vertigo meant Ludvig "Brollan" Brolin and Freddy "KRIMZ" Johansson had to step up massively for the Swedes to get to an 8-7 deficit before the half, with a force buy win setting them up for a good defensive side. Chris "chrisJ" de Jong had a few big rounds before fnatic won a USP-S round, only to lose all momentum as MOUZ claimed two crucial clutches and subsequently the map, 16-11.
KRIMZ and flusha powered fnatic as they grabbed an impressive start on Nuke, 8-0, giving away just one bombplant in the stretch. The Swedes then managed an impressive 4v4 retake on A and continued on to finish a near-perfect half, 14-1. A pistol round win and consecutive clean up brought Nuke to an end and moved the series to the final map.
karrigan's fast mid plays were causing issues for fnatic's defenses on Mirage, opening space for his teammates to take a 5-2 lead. The Swedes didn't let their opponents run away with the score, however, and took control of the second half with great showings from their A site duo KRIMZ and Brollan. fnatic switched to the offense 8-7 ahead, with the back-and-forth rounds keeping the two team neck and neck in the second half. In the final strech, fnatic maneuvered the dangerous waters and with the economic advantage on their side, closed out Mirage 16-12.
